MonkeySARS war (ist jetzt eine ekelhafte Pornoseite!) eine wunderbare Fundgrube für außergewöhnliche Klänge. So findet sich da auch ein Beitrag über Joe Meek. For those not in the know, Joe Meek was a revolutionary record producer who made Phil Spector look like a relatively normal bloke, and who went through a burst of rediscovery a coupla years ago. Meek’s fiercely independent, fiercely weird life and work have inspired books, music, stage plays, fan sites, and blogs – and you might find that he’ll inspire you, too. Telstar war, als ich anfing Musik zu hören, eine Offenbarung und das von Meek produzierte Have I The Right von The Honeycombs war nicht nur deshalb interessant, weil die eine Schlagzeugerin hatten (Honey Lantree - die müsste jetzt auch schon Mitte 60 sein, - freakytrigger is still in love with her!). Kurz gefasst: Joe Meek war der Klangzauberer der frühen 60er (Ritchie Blackmore hat z.B. auf einigen Aufnahmen gespielt)!
