Archäologie CCXLXIV : People Are Strange / Joel Brodsky
Keine Frage des Geschmacks; was hier folgt ist ein Beispiel des objektiv klassisch Schönen:
People are strange when you're a stranger
Faces look ugly when you're alone ...
When you're strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you're strange
No one remembers your name
When you're strange
Fantastisches Video von 1967! Der Titel findet sich auf dem zweiten Album der Doors "Strange Days", dessen Cover ebenfalls als klassisch schön gelten kann. This album cover was a photo that Joel Brodsky took in a small residential street in New York City after Jim Morrison refused to be photographed for the cover. Inspired by Fellinis 1954's circus film "La Strada - Das Lied der Straße" (u.a. mit Anthony Quinn und Giulietta Masina) the photographer decided to shoot a circus like photograph for the cover image. Von Joel Brodsky stammt übrigens auch the iconic "Young Lion" photograph of Jim Morrison, das Sie alle kennen.
Vgl. auch When you're strange - written and directed by Tom DiCillo (“Johnny Suede,” “Living in Oblivion”). Narrated by Johnny Depp. (Archäologie CVII: The Soft Parade)

I´m talkin about the death of rock and roll,
And who killed it.
Jim Morrison - Arden lointain
Wohl der schönste Mensch der jemals gelebt hat!
