Archäologie (DCXXVI) : THE LAECHERLING: iggy pop, brian eno and david bowie: countercollaborations recorded in 1977 + Lieb Mich Bis Dienstag (Naja, vielleicht wird's ja auch Mittwoch)

yes, it is the legendary "THE LAECHERLING" album, a compilation of obscure and rather hard to find tracks by iggy pop, david bowie and brian eno, that some psychobsessed northwestgerman bootleggers compiled in 1979 and released as a very limlited edition. (roots and traces: spurensicherung )

ZUgabe - noch weiter zurück - Recorded 24 November 1966:
"There Is A Happy Land" is one of the most brilliant moments from his debut LP. With delicate childlike piano and acoustic strumming by Pentangle's John Redbourn there's subtle brass weaving a wonderful melody as Bowie sings of childhood nostalgia with touches of innocence and cruelty: "sissy Steven plays with girls, someone made him cry, Tony climbed a tree and fell trying hard to touch the sky. Tommy lit a fire one day, nearly burned the field away, Tommy's mom found out but he put the blame on me and Ray". (via Anorak Thing)

Ich liebe bis heute diesen wunderbar naiven Aufbruchsoptimismus der englischen Rockmusik von 66 - 68.
