'My Generation' was named the 11th greatest song by Rolling Stone on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and 13th on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Songs of Rock & Roll. It's also part of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll and is inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for "historical, artistic and significant" value. High praise indeed. And it deserves it; the song is 3.19 of pure energy and attitude. (From The Vaults)
Dem ist ja unbedingt zuzustimmen, aber nun behauptet die Quelle, die Aufnahme sei in den Pye Studios, London gemacht worden. Die reklamieren das aber gar nicht für sich und thewho.com stellt klar, das die Aufnahme in den IBC Studios entstand:

... Aber fast alle Netz-Quellen übernehmen die Pye-Legende! - Das müsste musikgeschichtlich unbedingt mal klargestellt werden! Man stelle sich vor, das ginge so auch noch in die KernCurricula des Musikunterrichts ein und die Schülerinnen und Schüler würden für das Bundes-Musik-Zentralabitur Falsches lernen!
Shel Talmy hat i. Ü. die besten Rock-Alben der 60er Jahre produziert, u. a. my all time favourite album The Kink Kontroversy.
... Ich weiß nicht, ob ich schon erzählt habe, dass ich 1970 Keith Moon's Freundin im Bumpers Club in London Feuer gegeben habe! Offenbar hatte Keith kein Feuerzeug dabei, sonst wäre es ja zu diesem legendären Kontakt nicht gekommen.
