Der kleine Bruder hat ein - nach erstem Reinhören - sehr schönes neues Album fertig, das erste nach Fractured Mindz (2007), das wiederum das erste nach seinem Schlaganfall war.
Seitdem ist er ja spirituell ein bisschen abgedreht, aber wer weiß, wie wir nach dem Schlaganfall drauf sind, und gegen den Titel ist ja erstmal nichts zu sagen (Sag' ich auch immer, - mit dem Zusatz: hoffentlich) .
Außerdem kann er immer noch seine heavily destorted Kinks-Gitarre so wunderbar brettern lassen: The Little Green Amp!! - Die Geschichte muss man aus des großen Bruders X-Ray oder dessen Storyteller-Album kennen, sonst ist das nicht lustig ...

The Kinks' Dave Davies and The Band's Garth Hudson are among the many artists contributing to an upcoming compilation album that features new renditions of songs that date back to the 19th and early-20th century. Due out on June 4, The Beautiful Old offers 19 old-timey tunes, including standards like "I Love You Truly," "After the Ball" and "(The Daring Young Man) on the Flying Trapeze."

Davies lends his vocal talents to "After the Ball," which also features Hudson on accordion. Hudson also plays piano or accordion on nine more tracks on The Beautiful Old. Other noted musicians who contributed to the project are Graham Parker and lauded British folk-rocker Richard Thompson.

The album's songs date from 1805 ("The Last Rose of Summer") to 1918 ("Beautiful Ohio" and "Till We Meet Again"). The Beautiful Old was produced by Austin, Texas-based country-folk musician Gabriel Rhodes, who utilized only instrumentation that was available at the time when these tunes debuted.
