Archäologie CCLXXX : BBC Prog Rock Britannia
Wenn Sie zwischen den Jahren nichts zu tun haben:
BBC Prog Rock Britannia an Observation in Three Movements. Feature-length documentary about progressive music and the generation of bands that made it. Follows it's birth, its rise in the UK and US and its decline.
Covers Yes, Genesis, ELP - Emerson Lake & Palmer, Soft Machine, EGG, King Crimson, Procol Harum, Caravan and interviews with Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe, Bill Bruford, Carl Parmer, Mont Campbell, Phil Collins, Pete Sinfield, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Arthur Brown, Robert Wyatt, Gary Brooker, Mike Oldfield, Jonathan Coe, Ian Anderson, Bob Harris
Zugabe Januar 2014 - als Hinweis darauf, dass Prog doch nicht tot ist:
Drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment) had a brainstorm that gave birth to the band Transatlantic. He envisioned a band of himself, Neal Morse (Spock's Beard), and Jim Matheos (Fates Warning). As it turned out, Morse was available, but Matheos was not. Morse came up with the idea of recruiting Roine Stolt (Flower Kings) instead, and all that was left was a bassist. Portnoy contacted Marillion's Pete Trewavas and the group was set.
Progressive-rock super-group Transatlantic, featuring Mike Portnoy, Neal Morse, Roine Stolt and Pete Trewavas will release their brand new fourth studio album ‘Kaleidoscope’ on the 27th January 2014, and they are now very pleased to be able to bring you the band’s first ever music video for the track ‘Shine’. You can see the video now, premiering over at Prog and Classic Rock Magazine’s websites:

Besonders interessant scheint mir die Bonus-CS mit Cover-Versionen schöner Songs aus den 60er und 70er Jahren des letzten Jahrhunderts zu sein:
And You And I (Yes cover) (10:45)
Can't Get It Out Of My Head (ELO cover) (4:46)
Conquistador (Procol Harum cover) (4:13)
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Elton John) (3:20)
Tin Soldier (Small Faces cover) (3:22)
Sylvia (Focus cover) (3:49)
Indiscipline (King Crimson cover) (4:45)
Nights In White Satin (The Moody Blues cover) (6:13)
