The West Can't Smell What Eurasia is Cooking - A tectonic geopolitical shift happened in Astana, Kazakhstan, only a few days ago, and yet barely a ripple registered in Atlanticist circles.

At the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), founded in 2001, both India and Pakistan were admitted as full members, alongside Russia, China and four Central Asian “stans” (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan).
So now the SCO not only qualifies as the largest political organization – by area and population – in the world; it also unites four nuclear powers. The G-7 is irrelevant, as the latest summit in Taormina made it clear. The real action now, apart from the G-20, also lays in this alternative G-8.... Lesen!!

The whole EU project is facing utter collapse. This is bound to be the Eurasian century.

A sound way forward would have been what Putin proposed way back in 2007 — a unified continental trade emporium from Lisbon to Vladivostok. The idea was later picked up and expanded by the Chinese via the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) concept.

Instead, the Obama administration, leading the West “from behind”, counter-attacked with a pivot to Asia (for which, read containment of China) and Cold War 2.0 (demonization of Russia)...

- Wie das russische Statistikamt (Федеральная служба государственной статистики) heute mitteilte, ist der Output der breit gefassten Industrieproduktion (Bergbau, Energieversorgung und Verarbeitendes Gewerbe) im Mai 2017 um +5,6%.
- Das National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS) veröffentlichte gestern die Daten zur Industrieproduktion für den Monat Mai 2017. Die offizielle Wachstumsrate der breit gefassten Industrieproduktion stieg im Mai um +6,5% (nach +6,5% im April), im Vergleich zum Vorjahresmonat.
- Heute veröffentlichte das Statistische Amt der Europäischen Union (Eurostat) die Daten zum Industrieproduktionsindex aus der Eurozone für den Monat Mai 2017. Im Mai 2017 stieg in der Eurozone der saisonbereinigte Output der breit gefassten Industrieproduktion (Bergbau, Energieversorgung und Verarbeitendes Gewerbe) um +0,5% zum Vormonat und nur arbeitstäglich bereinigt stieg der Output um +1,4% zum Vorjahresmonat.
